Mortgage Lender

DH and I are looking to buy a house by the end of this year.  We will be first time home owners with no idea of where to even begin.    Any suggestions of a good mortgage lender to go and talk to and get the ball rolling.  I know we need to visit a lender and/or a bank to get a good faith estimate of what we can afford before we start looking.  We are looking to move to the Plain City area.

My favorite lender is John Stamolis with Equitable Mortgage in Dublin. 764-5078 or johns @ eqfin dot com  He does a great job with first time home buyers explaining options and mortgages.

I used John Stamolis for my second house.  He was great, and he called us when it came up we were benefit from a refi.

My DH is a real estate appraiser who works with Pete Tibaldi out of Cleveland all the time. He refers many home owners to him as he's so competitive with local lenders and is NOT a *shady* lender like so many out there. Just let him know that Craig Jackson refered you so that he'll take extra good care of you .

A good lender is hard to find, so don't be shy about "shopping" around!  Your credit can be pulled as many times in a 30 day period as you like, for the same purpose (such as meeting with various lenders to obtain a mortgage), and you'll only be dinged on your credit for it once.  Here are a few lenders that I refer clients to:

I just wanted to pop in here and say that I heard that there is this GREAT ice cream shop in Plain City - it's closed for the season but opening soon.
