I am so shocked. I can not believe that I don't have to work today. Not that I am complaining about a free day off, I am just so suprised. I am not sure why they made the decision to close. I woke up at 5 in a panic and I checked outside and it was already raining and no ice in sight. I went back to bed and woke up at 6:15 to get ready and school was closed.
Wow! I am happy for the day off. (Much needed mental health day with no sub plans required)

Re: I. am. shocked.
I had no problems today at all either. It totally baffels me that a lot of schools are closed or delayed.
monkey see, monkey do... OOOPS!
lol i was glad to not have much traffic to contend with this am... i had expected it to be so much worse due to weather!
I was surprised too!!
Enjoy your 3 day weekend!!
It's also supposed to get colder throughout the day and freeze all this rain that we have. So I'm guessing they didn't want kids stuck at school.
Plus, our neighborhood (we're in SWCS) was really slushy and if the temp dropped even a couple of degrees, it would have been really nasty. DH slid his way to the car this morning when we were leaving at 6:15.
I'm surprised, too. After my co-worker called me, I went back to bed. But then I woke up to check the 'incoming calls' on my phone to make sure she actually called and I wasn't dreaming.
