A NST is a non-stress test.  They hook the babies up to monitors that look at their heartrates.  They also hook you up to another monitor that looks at contractions and the babies movements.  They monitor how all this works together and you basically have to lay still and not move (no matter how much your back hurts and you have pee) b/c it's really easy for the babies to move and fall off the monitors.

Also - the nurse I've had the past 2 nights is named Emily and she totally reminds me of you!  She was really nice.  :o)

Re: emilyandbrady

  • Oh...that does not sound like very much fun!  it would be almost impossible to be still and have to pee.  but, it's crazy that the technology is there to do that monitoring :)

Well, thanks for thinking of me :)  I'm glad your nurse has been nice.  That can make all the difference.
