A Charlotte Update

Two steps forward, one step back...

Charlotte is still in the hospital tonight. She was off oxygen a few times today, and was able to hold her numbers up in the 90's but when she gets tired or is sleeping, her numbers drop down to the mid 80's for oxygen saturation. We need her numbers to be consistently in the 90's on room air, so tonight she's keeping the oxygen on so her body can rest and continue to heal and we'll try weaning her off again tomorrow.

She has gotten her smile back, not coincedentally when her Sam came in the room. She smiled and cooed at him and when Abby got there after school, it was all smiles and even a laugh when Abby danced for her. We had another hospital picnic for dinner and now the kids and I are home again while Jim is taking overnight hospital duty tonight. I'm back up to bat tomorrow night, I think. 2 nights of fractured sleep is enough for one person, I think before they need real sleep.

Anyway, that's where we are. She's getting better, slowly but surely. She's a strong little girl. It was so good to see her smile today!
