Well, I was wrong. The lab test came back and it IS RSV after all. Not that it changes anything, but its more of a matter of another box to check, really.
So, Charlotte and Daddy are having a Father Daughter sleepover at the hospital. I've been teasing Charlotte that its really a spa because her treatment has included Chest physical therapy, like swedish massage, albuterol breathing treatment which are like a facial, blood pressure readings on her toes with socks over them to keep the sensor on, kind of like a pedicure and she's waited on hand and foot. I don't think she got the joke.
The big kids and I are home tonight and I am so excited to sleep all night long in my own bed with no beeping or vinyl beds or pillows. I'm gonna go tub the big kids and hit the hay.
Charlotte is doing MUCH better and seems more like herself. She was up and playing and cooing and nursing for about 4 hours this afternoon which is much more than she's done over the last 4 days combined. She even gave hugs as we were leaving. We're still taking it day by day but we're hoping that the fact that she'd pulled out her nasal canula oxygen tube out of her nose and was still reading 94% on her O2 sats, that she's maybe turned a corner. Its hard not to get my hopes up but it helped me be able to leave my baby and husband in the hospital this evening knowing she was doing so well.
Abby will go to school tomorrow, and Sam and I will head up to the hospital in the morning. There's a fabulous big brother big sister playroom with attendants where Sam can play while Jim and I are able to meet with her doctor's to see what the plan is for tomorrow for her.
Keep the prayers coming! It is so amazing to feel all the prayers and positive thoughts heading our way.
