I'm an HR manager and also am responsible for payroll. I'm tired of people not following policy and when I hold them to the actions of what has happened, they run off to the head bosses and I have to retro what I did. Why make the policy in the first place if only to not enforce it. Why do I have to look like the wheel of asscheese?
Re: Work vent
mmmmmm asscheese.
isn't there some rule in corporate america that says HR and payroll jobs get pooped on the most?
Because people refuse to take accountability for their own actions. It's something that I really fear for the future of our country.
On a side note, I thank you on behalf of your fellow employees, for doing your job well. From your posts, it really sounds like you know your HR-stuff. My HR dept is total crap and I have to babysit them to see if they do anything right. I literally have a whole list of things they've f-ed up that caused me lots of time and grief. AND they agreed to allow DH to do his phd research at my company and then stopped returning his calls/emails after it was approved by his committee. Almost cost him his degree (along with another big name Columbus corporation that dropped out, too).
