Anyone ever gone and stood in the crowd??  Any advice?  I'm going in a few weeks and I really want to go and stand out there and I would LOVE to get my picture taken with Matt Lauer.  I'm going to do some research on-line, but I figured that you all always have great advice/tips!

    I went with some friends in college.  At that time Katie was still on the show.  My friends and I are Tri-Deltas, as is Katie, so we took as sign with our letters on it.  Unfortunately, she was not there that day.  We still got on a couple of times as the panned the crowd.  If you get there early enough you will have a better chance of getting close to the front--obviously :)  I have noticed that lately the people that they are talking to in the crowd are either there representing a charity or cause of some kind, are celebrating something special (i.e. big birthday, anniversary, etc.) or have a really cute kid with them.

    That's a bummer that Katie wasn't there, Emily.  I would have been sad!  (I heart Katie Couric).  What time do you go??

    it was a few years ago, but it was at the crack of dawn!  i think we were there by 5:30 or so.  thankfully william sonoma (i think) is right there and they had delicious coffee and hot chocolate.

    I have been there and it's great fun.  Just to see what all is going on is really fun.  I watch the today show everyday and after awhile you will start to notice a gentlemen in particular.  Talk, skinny, black guy with sunglasses.  He has been to like every show for 13 years.  Although he usually doesn't say a word, the anchors and staff treat him like a part of the family.  Anyway, they almost always stand by him when they come out to do the livshots outside.  I would find him, usually standing right next to the fence, then stand next to him!!

    Oh and he went to Ohio University so maybe an Ohio will get his attention?

    And I have heard that Ann Curry is SUPER nice!

    yeah that guy looks like the unibomber :)  dark glasses, hood.  I forget his name but he was not there the other day and they were worried.  I woudl find him and stand by him :)
