Anyone excel in statistics???

Without being too dramatic, I suck at statistics.  I'm taking one of my last classes I need for my MBA and I'm really horrible at statistics, can anyone tutor?  I'll buy the booze.

Re: Anyone excel in statistics???

  • Too bad I have the baby, I would have totally helped you.  I somehow got an A in both my stats classes at OSU.  Good luck, I hope you find someone to help!!
  • What kind of statistics are you doing? If its OLS (regression) or MLE I can help. If its all probability and such... sorry, thats my weakness.
  • i may be able to help as well.  I did well in beginning level stats classes at osu but it wasnt anything advance at all
  • I just started the course, so we just finished probability, which I am doing fine at, it's when we are getting into the heavier stuff that I'm pretty clueless.
  • Even though I was a math major and an actuary and passed 2 actuarial exams that deal with statistics - I will say that it's my weakest math subject and I couldn't teach it to anyone.  I have TONS of study materials though that you are welcome to borrow.  Sometimes reading the same information out of a different book or write up helps it to click.
  • Alee that would be fantastic if I can borrow.  I need to get an A in the class to counter with the C that I received in accounting :(    I'm at my wits end, but I talked with the dean yesterday and I will be finished with my MBA in August!!!!!
  • LOL, the only C I ever got in college was in accounting.  I will have my DH go in the basement and see what I can come up with and then I'll let you know tomorrow.  I live in New Albany - could you come pick it up to borrow?

What specific stuff are you studying?  Are you looking at distribution models like Poisson, Normal, etc. or are you doing multivariate stuff like ARMA and ARIMA models?  If you can let me know specific topics I can look for those.
  • 1.  Probability and concepts-possion (sp), etc.

    2.  Sampling distributions

    3.  Hypothesis testing-confidence intervals, 1 & 2 sample tests

    4.  Simple linear regression

    5.  Multiple linear regression

I live in Reynoldsburg off of Reyn-New Albany Rd. so I can come to you tomorrow night!  Thank you so much I really appreciate you helping me out!

  • Ok, I can't read correctly.  I thought you wrote I could pick them up tomorrow night (sorry).  If you are able to find them, I can come to you to pick them up.
  • ok - what's your email address?  I'll let you know what I find...
  • stacy-orr at hotmail dot com
  • What class are you taking? I majored in actuarial science at OSU.
