Fabric Stores?

So, the sewing machine lives! Now I'm all inspired to sew. I went to Joann's yesterday and didn't LOVE the fabric they had. I was hoping to find something with a border print to make a cute dress for Abby and Charlotte to match in for Easter.

Any other suggestions on fabric stores? I  only know of Joann's.

Re: Fabric Stores?

  • The Glass Thimble on High St. & Quilt Beginnings on Sawmill Rd. is where my mom buys all of her fabric.
  • There is Hobby Lobby, Hancock and Walmart

    Some specialty (and expensive) places are...

    -->
    Glass Thimble
    (614) 267-9566
    3434 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214

    -->
    Boone Fabrics
    (614) 890-2788
    1668 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43229

  • If you are looking to make something more than dresses, there is Fabric Farms in Hillard (near 270 and Cemetary Rd) and Calico Prints in Dublin (Sawmill & 161).  They both have more upscale fabrics for interiors (curtains, upolstory, etc).
  • There's a place I read about in a Columbus Monthly not too long ago in German Village that buys discontinued and remnants of trendy/vintage fabrics, and sells them at big discounts, unfortunately, I can't think of the name of it right now!  If it comes to me, I'll page or e-mail you!
  • I don't know which JoAnn's you went to, but some of them will have different selection than others. I agree with Fabric Farms if you're doing any interior decorating--they are awesome and incredibly helpful with questions, etc. GL with your new machine. Its so much fun seeing for little girls!! :)
  • Obviously I meant "sewing," not "seeing."
