As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Anyone have their phone through WOW?

UGH.

We are having the worst time with it. Our internet and cable are fine, Thank GOODNESS. but our phone through the cable modem is scratchy, cuts out and then disconnects in the middle of calls. NICE when you're trying to work from home. We've contacted them a number of times and they say they'll fix it but its still crap!

Anyone else have this problem, or am I just lucky? NOT!

  • We had problems with the phone just going dead every time it rained - not during a call, but it was not "hanging up" after a call, so the line would be dead and calls would go straight to voicemail.  The only way to fix it was to plug a phone directly into the modem.

    After eight (yes, 8) service calls to WOW, we have a 10% discount on our bundle, all new wiring, a brand new cable modem, and no problems since.  I literally ripped the tech a new one when he came over on the 8th visit.  I told them that if they couldn't get it working, I was going back to Insight (which at the time, was the only thing besides DirecTV with the Big 10 Network, so it was tempting anyway!).

    They got it fixed, but no tafter toying with it for a year.  We haven't had any problems since.  The problem was a wire OUTSIDE of the house that was getting wet and shorting out.  It was the only wire that wasn't looked at or replaced in the previous 7 visits!

    Good luck - it's so frustrating.  But honestly, we would have had the same problem with any company because it was the outside wiring.
  • We have ours through them, too, and just last night I went to check our voice mail and there's no dial tone!  DH got a dial tone back for a second, then it cut out again.  We never got it working again.  Ugh!!!

    Oh, and my cell service is crappy in the house, so it's not like I can use that phone...blech.

    We're seriously considering switching...

  • We have had it going on two years now and haven't had any problems.  Sorry you guys are experiencing these problems.

  • We had Vonage for a while (digital phone as well) and absolutely HATED it for the exact same reasons you're describing!  And yes, for someone who works from home, these problems made me feel very unprofessional! 
  • I did!! i switched to at&t. I would have dropped calls and it always sounded kinda echo-ey.
