More Job Advice

You gals were so great with the advice before, I am back for more!!  As you might remember I posted before about advice on what to put on a resume for someone who had been terminated.  Now we are onto the interview process, has anyone been in this situation?  What do you say in regards to being terminated?  You don?t what to sound negative, but you want to be honest.  How do you dance around the issue? TIA!! Amie

Re: More Job Advice

  • "There was re-organization of job duties within our company."

"I've decided to look for something more along the lines of  my skill level/interests/degree, etc."

    "I'm looking for growth/ change/ new challenges."
  • I was going to say basically what Erin said, except she said it better!  :o)  There is no need to say she was terminated, she should just say she's looking for a new opportunity or highlight things that she would like to do/learn that she wasn't able to do in her old job.  If it's obvious that she's no longer working there from her resume I would go with restructuring like Erin said.
