Laminate Flooring company

We are planning on having wood laminate flooring installed this spring (after tax rebate) and I had been planning on going to home depot, but I can't help but wonder if there isn't a better place to look/shop/buy.

Anyone have any recs?

I'll need about 375 sq ft and I'm trying to stay on budget of about $1000-1200 installed since we're also doing the kitchen.

Re: Laminate Flooring company

  • Will you DIY or do you want it installed?  I think they only do DIY floors, but we bought ours from Lumber Liquidators and LOVED the floors we ended up with and it was SO easy (promise!).  It cost us $1100 or so to do our entire first floor (about 800 sq ft).

Oh, just re-read...you want it installed.  Well, if you decide to DIY, use Lumber Liquidators!  They're on Feder/Fisher (I think it's Fisher there) between Georgesville/Philippi and Hillard Rome Rd.

We had 1000 square feet installed by Patrick.  We were thrilled with his quote and his work.  The floors really look nice.

We bought the flooring and transition molding at Sam's and the trim at Home Depot.

We found that that Home Depot was MUCH more expensive than going to an independant contractor for both labor and material.

  • I second Lumber Liquidators.  We actually drove to the Cincinnati store to get our wood floors before they opened up here.  We did our kitchen and family room in solid bamboo for less than $1300.  Of course, that is the DIY route but I promise you it isn't difficult.  My parents helped and we finished our floor in a weekend.
