after staying up until 2 AM and a few espiodes of Sex and the City. I have complete mixed emotions about the game. I don't have the normal sad (tears involved) emotions. I trully did not think that LSU out played us. Obiviously a short field and questionable calls supported at least 3 of their drives.
I know that SEC land will have a different perspective. But their speed did not play a huge factor and neither did Dorsey (he had a few plays). The blocking into a punter call killed our motivation to win at that point.
Its unfortunate that we didn't win. The best part was definetely the long Beanie Wells run-- so much for SEC speed.

Re: My game analysis
After about 6 personal foul calls by the third quarter, I went to bed.
I remember Cooper having no control over the emotions of his players...and there were just stupid, emotion-based mistakes. It didn't feel like a Tressel team to me.
I was expecting a more motivated team similiar to 2002. After the first few minutes I was expecting a positive outcome but the game turned away from us.
Yes the men made some stupid mistakes. However, I felt that the calls were very questionable. The late hit out of bounds was complete crap. The OSU guys were at least 4 feet from the LSU player and made little if any contact with the LSU guy. Cameron Heyward did push a guy after the whistle blew. However I have seen way worse hits that were not penalized so I feel that was a bit questionable. Yes he should not have pushed the guy but at the same time I think it was a bit ridiculous to call that.
Yeah there were a lot of bad calls, but there were many many more bad OSU plays.
Trust me, I get very little comfort that my other team (UK) beat the national champs this year, but I do feel that the SEC knows better how to handle their own. OSU just did not know what to do last night.
I think we tried playing up to LSU's speed and we weren't able to keep up. Hence the many bad mistakes that wouldn't have been made by our usually calm tressel team.
i personally wish we had not made the title game. i would have rather played a bowl game where we had a fighting chance, rather than face another big defeat on such a huge stage. they're not a bad team and he's not a bad coach, but now they're gonna get a lot of crap for this happening again. OSU could beat a lot of teams in the BCS and we're certainly not as bad as people will make us out to be.
in all fairness to tressel though, it was a rebuilding year and to accomplish what he did with such a new team and new quarterback is astounding. but will he get props for that? nope. i guess the only comforting thought is this won't happen next year. i figure our odds of being ranked 1 or 2 and someone allowing us into a title game for a while is pretty slim.
the one thing i'm not sure about... is U of M hiring Rich Rodriguez. should we be happy? should we be worried? that man is going to turn U of M into a spread offense. it might take a couple years and a few recruiting classes, but he's going to do it. no doubt there. so OSU and Tressel are going to have to learn how to hold a spread offense. that inability and stupid mistakes/penalties/interceptions is what killed us with Illinois too.
but hey, it wasn't as bad as last year!
-stupid penalties (I agree, there were a few that were very very questionable)
-Boeckman turnovers
-blocked field goal
-tired defense by the end of the first half
All of these contributed to the Buckeyes loss. It was a much better game than last year thankfully, and despite the outcome, I am still extremely proud to be a Buckeye.
what i really cannot fathom is why osu and tressel can't seem to effectively deal with a spread offenses (i.e. illinois). LSU's offense dismantled and exhausted our defense.
i mean the man is a football mastermind, except against the spread. joe pa and U of M can control the spread, so why can't we? we were certainly the better team this year compared to Penn State and U of M, yet they controlled the spread in their bowl games. i think joe pa needs to have a talk with little jimmy and help him out.
it just really blows my mind.
I agree that we can not defend the spread as well as other teams and people know that is our weakness.
