Crock Pot Question

Hello All- Happy New Years Eve. Do you know if I can put the buffalo Chicken dip in a crock pot after cooking it in an oven? Thanks for your help! One more thing. If you have made this before would you use Ranch or blue cheese dressing in the dip?

Re: Crock Pot Question

  • I have seen recipes for this dip for the crockpot.  Not sure where, though.

I like half blue cheese/half ranch.  And I think if you did the crockpot thing, put it in the pot to heat through, and pt the cheese on top, after. Not sure how it would turn out if you dumped it into the crockpot.

  • Hi oldblue678.

Happy New Years Eve to you! I am not sure if you have...but I would DEFINTELY post this on the What's Cooking board. The ladies there are always super helpful. Hope you get your answer! :)

As for dressing...I always use ranch because we don't really like plain blue cheese so I never have it at home. :) HTH.

  • I personally would not leave it in the crock pot to keep warm.  Because of the oilyness (sp?) of the ingredients, it's better if allowed to "set" after melting everything together, it makes it a stiffer dip that way.

I only use ranch.  I've had it with bleu cheese or half and half, and even though I love the taste of bleu cheese I don't care for it in this dip.
