I've had a minute to calm down and breathe without crying so I wanted to take some time and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers. God heard them but decided he needed my mom right now more than we did. Today my siblings and I had the difficult task of going to her apartment and picking out clothes for her to wear, as well as planning her funeral. While there we decided to start going through her things and I must say, we had a few laughs. We found old letters we wrote her as kids, old pictures, etc. I've decided to do a collage for the calling hours. And I've taken the brave task of speaking in front of everyone at the funeral. I found a poem that made me think of my mother so I'm going to read it.
Anyway, before I get all weepy again I wanted to say thank you. I'm touched you all cared so much.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I can't imagine what the last few days have been like for you. I am sure you will make it through. You are so brave to speak in front of everyone. I couldn't do it without being a sobbing mess. But then again I couldn't walk down the aisle without crying. Hang in there.

I did my sister's eulogy, and believe it or not, it was the easiest thing of all. I sat down the night before and just typed on my computer, everything I was thinking, and spoke from my heart. I know you will do a wonderful tribute to your mom, and she will be holding your heart in her hands the entire time.

I am so sorry you're going thru this, but God needed a new angel for the new year. I know you will do a wonderful job as you will have an angel on your shoulder!

I think he heard the prayers to end the suffering, sometimes the only way is to bring them to heaven.
