AW: Made my first milk bank donation today!!

I made my first milk bank donation today. 115 ounces! I am so happy...our local milk bank is wonderful b/c they only charge 4.00 an ounce to mothers...the cost to them to process it! I cried b/c they have the mothers who donate make a scrapbook and many had lost their baby or babies...and it really reminded me of our boys' NICU time and the awful delivery. The woman who ran it said some of the milk goes to CHOP...where the nestie mom who has triplets' little boy Jack is. I felt so good knowing I might help him!

If any of you out there have milk in the freezer you won't use I URGE you to call and our local milk bank!

Good for you Meghan!  I hope to God to have enough milk for my 2 little ones but if I have any left over I will definitely consider this.  )

I donated with Ryan, and wish I would have known about it when I had Carson. It's a wonderful thing. I really like all the women that work at the bank too, Diane is wonderful. The last time I donated, they were shipping to Boston, so it really does go to help a lot of little babies.

Nice job! They do great work there. You are right, some of that scrapbook is _so_ heartbreaking. I can still picture the mom who lost her baby hours after birth. This of course reminds me that somewhere in my office there is a blank page that I'm suppose to be making for that scrapbook!

Wow! That is so awesome and so wonderfully generous of you. I have a ton of frozen milk and I do plan to use it.  But, if I don't, I'll be in touch for more info about donating it.
