anyone here today???

I am stuck at work until 2:00 this afternoon.  I have some work to do but not nearly enough to keep me busy all day.

Re: anyone here today???

  • I don't post here much...but I too am here until about 1. Fun fun.

  • I'm going to be around today.  DH is at work, we basically have nothing left before Christmas and induction day for me to do, and I have to keep my feet up because I think my body decided to see just how swollen my feet could get before Wednesday. :)
  • Oh Shanna, I feel for you, I really do.  I remember those tense hours.  I was at work with nothing to do so I had tons of time to do nothing but sit there and think about what was coming my way.

Did you decide to go to L&D to get the NST today?

  • I ended up having to go in on Saturday because baby hadn't moved in over 12hrs after drinking 16oz of OJ, a few sips of diet coke and an 1.5hr kick count trying every position I could get in.  Of course as soon as we got bumping along in the car she woke her naughty butt up and she looked great.  lol  She kicked all over the place at the hospital and they said she looked great, so I'm not going to worry about it.

Waiting sucks!!!  I don't think I am going to be able to sleep tonight or tomorrow night. Boo!

  • I woke up ready to go at 4:00 a.m. the morning of my induction and I had the hardest time getting DH out of bed.  Hopefully there won't be too mush traffic for you to deal with (we had to deal with full-blown rush hour traffic).  Also, is your doc going to deliver you no matter the time?  Dr. Leeman put a note on my chart to have her paged when I was ready to deliver and she came in at midnight even though she wasn't on call (I love that woman for doing that for me!).
  • I know Lindauer is going to come over to see me after she finishes her morning rounds, and I am assuming if I asked her she would be willing she really didn't make it sound like she wouldn't be delivering me, so I'm not sure.

I'm hoping since I have pretty good progress that it shouldn't take quite as long as yours, she was guessing late afternoon to early evening.  If you don't mind me asking, what was your progress before you started your induction?
  • I was 100% effaced but only fingertip dilated.  I had a LEEP Biopsy done in 2001 so had some scar tissue taht was preventing me from dilating properly on my own.  My main problem was that I stalled at 5 cm for 3-4 hours.  In hindsight, I think I probably would have held off on the epidural a little longer to see if that would have helped with the progress.
  • I'm here! No clue what time we are working until...the one good thing about working today is that there was no stupid Phoenix traffic! yippee!!
  • That was the one good thing about coming in to work (no traffic).  However, I work in the Easton area and ddin't pack a lunch so I have a feeling that getting lunch today is going to be an adventure.

  • I've had a couple LEEPs done, so I hope I don't have any trouble.  Did you know about the scar tissue before you got to the hospital?  I was almost 3cm on Thurs., so I am hoping that will get me to 10 a little quicker than starting at nothing. :)  One of the girls on 3rd tri and I are "racing."  We have the same due date and everything, which is cute.  She gets a 1hr head start though because she is going in at 7. lol
  • Dr. Leeman had mentioned the scar tissue when I got my annual at my 20-week appointment.  I didn't know it was going to be an issue though until I kept effacing but I wasn't dilating.  She tried to break the scar tissue at my 38-week appointment but I had to make her stop because it hurt too much.  That is when she set up the induction because I think she knew that I wasn't going to go into labor on my own and she didn't want me going late because of the GD.
  • Well it sounds like she was smart to do it!
