POLL: Does Santa wrap presents??

I just saw this poll and it got me thinking...I never knew that some people don't wrap their Christmas Presents and just put them under the tree unwrapped. I must have led a sheltered life ;) , but Santa ALWAYS wrapped presents and put them under the tree.

Do you wrap all of your presents? Does "Santa" do fun tricks at your house for presents or just leave them unwrapped for the kiddies to find?

Re: POLL: Does Santa wrap presents??

  • Santa always just left our presents under the tree, unwrapped.  He was too busy making all the presents to bother wrapping them.
  • We were told that Santa's Elvs wrapped all of the presents. Still to this day there are presents wrapped under the tree from "Santa" and we are all in our twenties!! :) My Mom just can't give it up! :)

  • Santa always gave us the toys and big gifts and they were never wrapped.  I think my parents were just too lazy (as am I this year :o) )...
  • I think every family does it differently. My parents never wrapped any gifts, they were all from Santa and unwrapped. Our tree was always in the foyer, so there wasn't really room to put the presents underneath. Since we celebrate Christmas and Hannukah, my parents got our Hannukah gift since Santa got us Christmas gifts :-)

DH's step-mom wraps all gifts and still does a Santa tag too, even though I'm the youngest in the family and I'm 25. We get presents from everyone in the family, including the dog and the cat, from them. lol

  • All of our presents were wrapped. But some were from Santa and some were from family. LOL.
  • Santa never wrapped our gifts! The one year he did, my brother asked why he had the same wrapping paper and handwriting as my mom.
  • Santa didn't wrap gifts and didn't put them under the tree.  He set them up all over the couch!  And since we didn't have a fireplace, my stocking would be there too.

Gifts from mom and dad were wrapped and under the tree.

  • Santa always wraps presents in our family! heck, I still get gifts from "Santa" and I'm 25 :)
  • Our gifts from Santa and from my parents were both wrapped and under the tree. I was trying to remember today if we usually wrapped gifts that were going in stockings, and can't recall.

I think the same thing happened in our house as in stephm's- one year the "Santa" writing in my letter from Santa & on the gift tags looked an awful lot like my dad's rather distinctive writing (which is the neatest, most elegant style of writing I've ever seen by a guy).

  • When I was a child all the Santa gifts were wrapped and under the tree.

Now that I have children, Santa's gifts are in the stocking unwrapped and all the real presents are under the tree wrapped. Heck, Santa isn't gettin' credit for all the cool toys, are you kidding! He only gets credit for the stocking stuffers. LOL

  • Santa always wrapped the presents at our house, and he even had different wrapping paper than mom and dad gifts.  I never knew Santa didn't wrap everyone's gifts, interesting to know.
  • Wow, I've never ever heard of unwrapped presents, so I'm amazed at how many people replied that theirs were unwrapped!!

Santa wrapped my presents--and yes, I still get stuff from Santa.  :)  And Mom had different wrapping paper for Dad than Santa had for me.

  • I'm totally surprised by how many people had unwrapped gifts too! Doesn't that take some of the surprise out of Christmas morning, if you can just go downstairs and see what you have?

Ours were always wrapped. I think my mom would have my dad sign the Santa ones, so it was different handwriting than hers on the ones from the parents. I never noticed the wrapping paper, though, so it was probably the same and I was too excited to notice!
  • Santa never wrapped our gifts. They were in big piles under/ near the tree. One pile per kid. It was always fun to figure out which pile was mine. It usually had a redheaded doll and some kitchen toys. It was so fun to go downstairs and see ALL those toys for us! I never felt like we were cheated by Santa not wrapping them. I'll be 26 in January, and Santa still knows how to find me. :)
