Poll: Christmas Plans

I think we've done this before already, but I thought I'd do it again, as I'm sitting at work, not really motivated, and want to hear about other people's holiday plans :)

Tell us about your plans for the holiday!!

Re: Poll: Christmas Plans

  • Our holidays start this weekend.

Saturday afternoon: drive to West Chester (outside of Cincinnati) for my family's party.

Saturday evening: leave West Chester around 6:15 and drive back to Columbus for a friend's party in Clintonville.

Sunday: free so far but we may go to Wildlights at the zoo if it isn't too cold for Connor.

Monday: both DH and I have to work :o( so our SIL will watch Connor then we will just relax that evening.  Hopefully, I will be able to start some of the casseroles for breakfast the next day.

Tuesday morning: my immediate family is coming to our house for Christmas morning breakfast and gift opening

Tuesday afternoon: we are going to DH's mom's house for his family get together

Following Saturday: DH's family party (cousins and all).

Needless to say, I am looking forward to New Years!

  • We're hosting a small Christmas party Friday night for us and two other couples including a turkey and all the fixings (one of the couples will do a lot of cooking for us since we switched from Saturday to Friday for them...and I can't cook b/c I have to be at work!)

Then Saturday we're packing up and going to my parents' house in Chillicothe.  I have a Christmas party with my HS friends on Sunday night there.

On Christmas Day we'll do Christmas morning with my parents, then around noon we'll go to my mom's mom's house, then around 2:30 we'll go to my dad's mom's house.

Around 4:00 we'll pack back up and get in the car for our 3 hour drive to Findlay (via Columbus to drop off large presents) and have Christmas that evening with DH's parents, his two brothers, niece, SIL and younger brother's girlfriend.  We'll stay in Findlay until Friday, most likely, then head back to C-bus to recuperate during the weekend before heading back to work on Monday.  *whew*
  • Mine's pretty depressing this year.  My family hasn't made any plans yet because of my mother. So basically I'm doing:

Saturday: Sit at the hospital with my mom

Sunday: Sit at the hospital with my mom

Monday: **maybe** my family will get together and have dinner and exchange presents like we do every year on Christmas Eve.

Tuesday: Wake up, give the kitties their presents and then head to the hospital to see my mom and then I'll go to my SIL's sister's house for brunch.
  • Tonight and tomorrow:  Bake up the Christmas cookie dough that's in the freezer.

Friday:  After work, we're headed to Michigan.  Staying with MIL.

Saturday-Sunday:  Spending a full day with each MIL and FIL.  Not sure which day is which.  DH has a lot of friends he wants to see, and MIL is apparently inviting a bunch of people over that I've never met - eek!

Monday and Tuesday:  Split each day between FIL and MIL.  Step-MIL's kids are all in town (one family lives in Japan), so it will be a good opportunity to see everyone.  I'm not sure what the plan for each day will be, with meals and presents and such, because this is my first Christmas with them.  My first Christmas away from home  ::sniff::      Driving back Tues night

Saturday-Sunday of next week:  Spending a day and a half or so with my family over in Dayton.

  • Friday - going to Dayton for Christmas with the in-laws and coming back sometime Saturday.

Sunday night - having Christmas with Andy

Monday - heading to Zanesville for Christmas Eve at my Mom's.

Tuesday - we'll go to my Aunt's house then to my Dad's in Cambridge that afternoon/night. Heading back to C-bus sometime that day.

Friday - my Dad is moving to NM, so I'm driving out with him and flying back to C-bus on Jan. 4. Then it's back to the teaching grind.

  • Heading to Florida on Saturday with my family and staying through New Years! Woohoo!
  • Today:  Going to my mom's and we are baking all day!  :)

Thursday-Sunday:  Heading to my IL's in Port Clinton, doing the holiday thing with them.

Monday:  Going to church Monday night, and having dinner with my parents.  DH and I will do our gifts together.

Tuesday:   Spend the day with my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins at my parents.

  • Friday - Sunday going to my parents house in North East Ohio hanging out with family and cousins and such, x-changing presents

Monday-Tuesday spending xmas with the inlaws, xmas eve thay are having some family, and my parents over

xmas day spending with just the hubbies family at his grandma's doing the traditional xmas thing, and then driving back for xmas

we dont know what new years will entail, but we're hoping its just a relaxing evening at home not doing too much :)

  • i'm taking all next week off!!! yay biggrin.gif

my brother comes in on monday. monday with MIL in wooster, tuesday with FIL, wed home thurs to cleveland with sis, friday in newark with godparents, sat Phil flies home
  • We did Christmas with the in-laws this past weekend.

Sunday:  Big sister gets into town from NYC!  I haven't seen her since the wedding in July.

Monday:  Christmas Eve stuff with my family.

Tuesday:  Open presents on Christmas morning with my family, then go to my big family celebration (I have 30 cousins on my mom's side) in the evening.

DH's family is not that big on Christmas and mine goes crazy for Christmas, so that's why things are a little one-sided.
  • My holiday plans are already in action, as I sit here typing this before my moms up and moving. We are spending Christmas in MN.

I am already here, we are getting a Christmas tree today, and wrapping presents, I love this time of year. DH flies in on Saturday and we are staying here until next Friday, then driving to Indianapolis for a wedding, returning to Columbus on the 30th. Oh, and I am throwing a low key - game night and chinese food - news years eve party for whatever of my friends are back by then. Yep. ;-)
  • Friday night: Cookies and Cocktails with my girlfriends at my house :) I can't wait!

Saturday: No plans...either going out to see everyone who is home for the holidays or stay in and wrap presents

Sunday: Christmas Party at my Great Grandmothers house...Bless her...she is 93 and still buying gifts for everyone!

Monday: Huge Christmas Party with my Dad's side of the family...cousins and all...

Tuesday: Our first Christmas at our new house! DH and I will open gifts in the morning and then go over to my parents around 11/12 for brunch (im making breakfast) and then we'll go home and relax for awhile before we go back over to my parents for dinner with the family

**Jason's family is out of town this year, so it was so much easier to make plans without having to split all of our time**

    YAY for Christmas!!!! :)
  • Saturday:  Driving to Wapakoneta to do Christmas with my in-laws.  My SIL and her family are driving in from Philly, so we'll all be together on Saturday night.

Sunday:  Heading back to Cbus and finishing baking and gift wrapping.

Monday:  Driving to Warren to see my family and doing gifts and dinner with extended family.

Tuesday:  Gifts with my parents and brother and then heading back to Cbus to do gifts and dinner with DH.

  • Since I'm confined to Franklin County, my plan are limited.

My ILs came from TX last weekend to celebrate with us.  We will be alone for actual Christmas, and then my parents are coming from TN from the 27th to the 1st.

DH and I are looking forward to our one and only Christmas with just the 2 of us.  For me, anything low key is good right now.

  • Hmm, our plans are not as super exciting as many of yours. We can't travel because of my job, ILs can't travel to us because of FIL's job, and my parents looked at flights but they were super expensive. So, this year the holidays will just be Chris and I in AZ by ourselves.

Monday: I have to work :( I think at night, we'll go to church at the Methodist church at ASU so we can check it out.  I think we may fondue for dinner (it's my family's tradition).

Tuesday: open presents and relax. Not sure about dinner yet.

    Wednesday: back to work :(
  • Sunday: Going to my extended family's Christmas gathering - all of my mom's family, aunts, uncles, cousins.  Its usually fun, but very tiring.  I'll either stay in Dayton or I'll drive home, haven't decided yet.

Monday & Tuesday:  At my parents, my brother and sister will be there.  As will my mom's cat, my sister's cat and my GSD.  My dog thinks cats are for chasing.  I hope the weather is nice, as I'll probably be taking a lot of walks with him.  Other than the cat/dog situation, I think it will be good.
  • First of all divorced parents make things so complicated!! My parents are seperated and ILs are divorced.

Saturday We are doing something with my dad I need to make further plans as to what though.

Sunday I am cooking dinner for MIL, MIL's bf, dh and ds at our place in Columbus.

Monday I am going to a party at my aunt's house in Canal Winchester.

Xmas- Going to my mother's in Canal Winchester in the morning to watch my little brothers open up gifts, then I'm taking them to my grandma's house in Carroll and we'll stay for a little while then going to FIL's in Groveport.

  • Our holiday plans are:

Sunday Dec 23rd- Dinner and gift with my mom, brother, SIL and uncle.

Sunday night - drive to my DH's home in PA

Christmas Day - Drive back to Columbus (we both have to work on the 26th)

26th - 27th - Pray that the closing on our house actually comes through on the 28th!

29th - Paint the new house?

Jan 1, 08 - start moving boxes and celebrate the up coming year!!!
