Attn: Owners of dogs that love to swim

Anybody ever heard of Dock Dogs? It's on TV on the Outdoor Channel. Basically, dogs are at one end of a 40 foot dock, you're at the other, asking them to run past you and jump into a pool of water. Jumps are measured like a long jump and the dogs look like they're having LOTS of fun! I was wondering if anyone had heard of it, or if anyone is involved with a team here. Hmmm. I want to get Raven into it. She loves the dog beach in Polaris at Alum Creek and I think she could do pretty good. But mostly, I just want to do it to have all the fun.

Re: Attn: Owners of dogs that love to swim

  • I have seen that!  I love those doggy olympic shows.  They look like they're having a blast!

Have you seen the relays with the hurdles?  I saw one and this little dog just kicked EVERYONE"S butt, everytime.

  • I LOVE the dog challenge shows like the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge and the Great Outdoor Games.  I don't have a dog and don't know anything about training or anything, but just wanted to chime in :)
  • Haha, Buckeyechick!
  • I love watching those dogs and so does our doggie, Ginger. She just loves watching them on TV, it's hilarious, she runs up to the TV and her little head goes back and forth with the movement of the dogs. She has never been swimming before, I wonder if she would like it? She sure like to jump!
  • My dog likes to watch them on TV too! I think it's hilarious. I'd love to have him try to do it...I think he'd be pretty good at it after he got the hang of it.
  • I have heard about it and actually seen on youtube that at one point a weimaraner held the record.  (We have a weim) but I would maybe try some of the dog clubs around for information.  I know there is a weim club.
