Please resuce a kitty from the cold!

We have a stray hanging out at the house. No tags. It's hard to tell, but I believe it might be decently young. Very skinny at maybe 6-7 pounds. He/she showed up a few days back wandering around and we haven't been able to find the home. We created a box/blanket out front last night after it slept under the deck for a few days.

VERY VERY affectionate. NO clue how it is with other cats, overall condition, etc. Physically very alert, looks to be in good health, but has a little bit of ratty hair (thinking it's been homeless for a little while).

Here is a link to a picture of him/her: http://mad-skillz.com/RescueMe.jpg

We would  rather place it than have to take it to a shelter. We already have two cats ourselves.

If you are interested, know of anyone who would be, or this is your cat please let me know. (Edgewater subdivison - Hilliard)

Re: Please resuce a kitty from the cold!

  • Take it to the Capital Area Humane Society. They will find a good home for the kitty...or you can find a no kill shelter.
  • Capital Area is in Hilliard BTW...right by Universal Gymnastics. HTH!
  • I would second the CAHS suggestion rather than trying to place it yourselves. Unless you get a quick response from someone you know who needs a cat, going with CAHS will get the kitty inside and warm a lot more quickly. They'll also take care of any medical care the cat might need, which it probably does if it's been out, and they can check for a microchip to see if the cat does have a real home. Beautiful cat -- I hope s/he finds a good place to live, and thanks for caring about him/her!

  • Another shelter option would be Cat Welfare, a no kill shelter.  Here's their info, http://www.catwelfareohio.com/
