Reupholstering / upholstering on a budget - ideas?
Hello! This is my first post as we are new to Indianapolis 
. I've run into a few pieces that I would LOOOVE to buy and reupholster, but from everything I've heard about upholstering, it's probably cost-prohibitive for us. Two tips that I've read are to either a) take a class at a community or trade school and upholster it yourself in the class or b) some jail programs actually have upholstery shops at very reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find either of those options in the Indianapolis area. Any thoughts? These would be too complicated to just do at home...

Hm, I haven't heard of either of those options around Indy, but then again, I didn't know to search for them
I know some reupholstering isn't that hard - I've had friends and family do it well. I, however, am not that talented and I priced out slipcovers for two chairs I have. I know the slipcovers were more expensive since the chairs are a wonky shape and I want to be able to wash the fabric regularly (they're dog chairs).
I don't know what side of town you are on, but I had a fabulous dialog with Rhyne Upholstery. 3560 Madison Ave, Indianapolis, IN? - (317) 786-4459?
Pen Products is a company that works with DOC offenders to do this type of stuff. I'm not certain what they charge or if they even do it for the 'public' but it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.
