Trendy purses??

Does anyone know what the hot, trendy purse brands are besides Coach and Dooney & Burke? I am thinking of buying my mom one because she loves purses, but I'm completely ignorant about purse buying.

Re: Trendy purses??

  • check out www.seatbeltbags.com I have one from them I bought 6 or 7 years ago, I carried it everyday for 4ish years, and it still looks like new. I put in a request for another one from DH for my birthday in 3 weeks. Must build the collection!!!
  • not sure how much you are looking to spend, but Cole Haan has nice handbags. http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/catalog/category.jsp?categoryId=303125#page=1,viewAll=FALSE

You might also want to check zappos.com and bluefly.com. I think on those sites you can search by price range. I love satchels personally because you can hold them in your hand or put them on your shoulder, plus they hold a lot of stuff.

Now if you were going to spend $$$, then I would recommend a LV Speedy or YSL Muse. They are pretty classic as far as purses go.
  • Emperor's Newest Clothes in Grandview (behind the Giant Eagle) and also now in the Short North on 636 N.High St. has fun, trendy purses. They aren't major label bags, but they are nice. Range between $30.~$60.
  • Vera Bradley are a huge hit right now and they are a bit pricey but not as expensive as Coach/Kate Spade/Etc. I have a few and my Mom loves them too. You can find them at Crab Tree & Evelyn, but im sure there are other places too.
  • Harvey Seatbelt purses, Kate Spake, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Fossil, Juicy Coutour, Lucky Brand....it just really depends on the "look" you're going for. Some are very funky, and some are more conservative. Macy's  and Von Maur are good places to see a decent variety of the different brands.
