Poor DH...

He has NO time to shop for Christmas and I have NO clue what to tell him to get for me!!  I can't give him an idea if I can't think of anything I want!

Any ideas?  :)  Mommy stuff perhaps?

Re: Poor DH...

  • Get a maternity massage!  I think Alicia had one done at the Spa at River Ridge and loved it.  :)  You should definitely be pampered and I'm sure as May approaches your body will need it!
  • This was me last christmas, I couldn't think of anything! I had such baby brain.

Tommy last year got me a pajama gram. They're a little pricing, but a nice comfy pj set for the weeks leading up to birth, in the hospital and the weeks at home are really great. The nice thing is they have maternity sets!

I also thought comfy, easy to pull on shoes where a god send (I have these, really comfy http://tinyurl.com/2jbewv )

    HTH!

  • Do you or are you interested in scrapbooking? You won't have any time right away (heck I can't seem to find the time now either with an almost 2 year old), but it might be fun to get a bunch of scrapbooking stuff. DH got me an album, some software, and some books on digital scrapbooking last year. Sadly, I have yet to use any of it. What about a digital photo frame? Or a digital photo key chain? Those are both things I'd like to get. Do you have a digital camera and a video camera already? Those are great to have with a baby. You might want to get a bunch of movies or TV shows on DVD, especially if you are going to be BF'ing. I spent so much time on the couch with DD BF'ing in the first 6 weeks that I made it through like 4 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD. I was so happy to have something I could watch that I really enjoyed while nursing (which I did not enjoy). I think a prenatal massage would be nice, my best friend has gotten them before and loves them. Do you already have a Snoogle or a suitable pillow set-up for sleeping? Hope maybe something in there helps....
  • If you don't already have it, what about TIVO or DVR?

We're a little behind, technology wise so we just got it in Sept.  We DVR a lot now since Mr Pissy Pants doesn't allow us to watch TV until he goes to bed at night.  I'm so glad we have it!

I got a prenatal massage for a friend of mine and she said it is the most relaxing thing ever.  She really enjoyed it.

  • David got me a prenatal massage at St Ann's and it was FABULOUS. All the women who do the massages are labor and delivery nurses. They are very reasonable too.
  • H got me a Sirius reciever two years ago and now I can't live without it.  They have pretty much anything you could ever want to hear and only have commercials on the talk channels.

I also love the DVR and a good massage.  Other things you might like if you were me: jewelry, cookbooks, a stand mixer, slippers, stuff from the Body Shop, art supplies....uhm...that's all I've got.

  • From my DH I asked for:
    - pre-natal massage at River Ridge or St. Anns
    - new sketchers (slip on shoes)
    - the humidifier off my baby registry that I can use till they come to help with bloody noses
    - my diaper bag (I told him it's like buying me a purse)
    - Maternity pajamas (I sent him specific ones I likes)
    - Maternity tops (ditto above)
  • Oh no! I thought he was going to at least get a week off and could shop then. What happened?
  • He really doesn't have any time off until after grades are submitted on the 27th.  He has no teaching starting today, but a couple of exams next week, and piles and piles of papers, projects and tests to finish grading.  I convinced him that if he went shopping today, there'd be less people out, and he could get back to grading easier.

LOL --- 5.5 hours later, he's still gone.  He says that everyone in the Columbus area apparently took the day off and went straight to Polaris/Lewis Center.  But he'll have all weekend and next week grade now, before we head to Michigan.

Good news is that we thought of a lot of things between tips from this post and brainstorming amongst ourselves.  He said he's getting all he needs.
