Need your ideas for take-out dinner

Somewhat limited location, so I'm not sure if anyone can help, but I'm looking for something different that I won't be able to get DH to have (he's at an awful holiday party tonight).  If all else fails, I'll have Aladdins on Grandview Ave., though :)

Work on campus, headed to Hilliard (Cemetary & 270 area) to shop, would be willing to head a bit north to Dublin maybe, live in Galloway.  Open to just about anything, but if it's ethnic, be prepared to give suggestions for dishes b/c I know nothing about most ethnic foods besides Mexican, Italian, and Chinese!

Thanks!

Re: Need your ideas for take-out dinner

  • You want to eat after shopping, when you get back to Galloway?

On Fishinger/Mill Run strip mall, there is the Taj Palace (I think) that has great Indian food!  They have very good Chicken Biryani (a rice dish) and Chicken Makhani is chicken in a spicy, creamy, curry sauce.

  • In theory...but I'm also open to picking something up, going home and eating, then going back out and shopping.  I feel totally free!  lol!!!

That sounds good...I know nothing about Indian food, but I might just give it a shot.  About how much do the dishes cost?
  • Hey Allison, ever been to/hear of the Big Fat Greek Cuisina?  It is at Fishinger/Riverside.  It is not far from Mill Run, which I am assuming is where you'll be shopping at.  Just head down Fishinger......going the direction of inside the I-270 Loop (which I think is the only way since the other way, it'd be considered Cemetery)  and it is just over the river on the left....in the Pet People Plaza.  Right smack in the middle.  SUPER GOOD authentic Greek Food!  They have good sit down stuff on one side and for like 1/2 the price of sitting down, they have a take-out side.  Their strawberry shortcake is to DIE FOR!  My husband ALWAYS has to get it......no matter WHAT.  Also, their Greek salads have homemade greek dressing - super good!

For reference, they have fabulous fish and it is a neat atmosphere....you'll see it if you go for take-out tonight.....but good for a nice night out though too.
  • If you're into Indian food there's a takeout place on high street across from ***'s Den that is good.  It's fairly new but my sister goes there all the time.  Here's more info: http://tinyurl.com/2b8rvu

  • Fine!  Richard's Den!  Stupid knot.

  • Ohh, if it were me, I'd do Carraba's or Macaroni Grille to go.
  • Thanks, ladies!  I ended up at Big Fat Greek Cuisina.  My co-worker had suggested it, too, but after looking at the online menu, it was really expensive...but Chris, after you gave me that info, I was all over it!  The gyro was HUGE!  If it had known how big it would be, I wouldn't have gotten the Greek fries!  Oh, and the baklava is just sitting there staring at me....hehe

Thanks so much for all the ideas!  I'll file them away for another day!
