Has anyone been to the new Mitchell's or Marcella's yet?

I am thinking of taking my parents there, and want the best atmosphere. No open kitchen with plates clanking.

Marcella's down in the Short North was one of the loudest sit down/nice places I have ever been.  We had to shout across the table to be heard and this was on a Thursday evening.  I personally would never take my parents there.  I'm not sure if they set up the Polaris location differently.

I completely agree with Shanna, the atmosphere at Marcella's downtown is very loud and casual.  I would maybe take my parents there for lunch.

Never been to Mitchell's.

Definitely don't take them to Marcella's.  While I think the food is great, the noise level is crazy in there.

I don' t know what Mitchell's is.  Do you mean the steakhouse?

yep. Mitchell's just built a new Steakhouse at Polaris and I am hoping the atmosphere is the same as it was at Campus View. They have one downtown too.

Did you mean the NEW Marcella's at Polaris too?  I have not been there, but it is such a larger space (old Martini's) that I can't imagine it is as loud as downtown.

Oh yeah, I'm talking about the downtown Marcella's.  I didn't know there was one at Polaris. 

The downtown Mitchell's is nice and quiet, but it sounds like you are looking in the Polaris area.  I haven't been to that one either.

Yep, new on both counts, Mitchell's and Marcella's, both at Polaris.

Maybe they have some pics online.......... I'll try that!

I think the food is significantly better at Macella's but as pp said it is loud at least in the Short North.

Marcellas is definently set up like an italian style restaurant. They want the atmosphere to be open and loud. I really love it down there! Im actually taking my brothers there for dinner tonight. Yum! I can't wait!

I went to Marcella for my brother birthday this year - I really wasn't that impressed with the place.  I thought the food was over priced and not that great.  Just my opinion though.

My dad loves Marcella's in the Short North. They are definitely going for an authentic feel which definitely means loud!

Personally, of the Steakhouses I prefer Morton's or Hyde Park to Mitchell's--but it's been a while since I've been to Mitchell's.
