$25 male gift for family exchange

My family is having their party this weekend where everyone brings a $25 gift for a gift exchange (one for the females, one for the males). I'm stuck on what to get for DH's gift. Any ideas? The men range in ages 35-60 and are a mix of computer geeks to sports fans. If all else fails, I suppose I'll get a gift card to Home Depot or something...everyone could use that. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: $25 male gift for family exchange

  • We do the same thing in my family. And I always have problems coming up with a male gift for DH to give. I hate doing gift cards because it's been turning into just swapping gift cards and what's the point in that? Anyway, here's a few ideas from prior years:

Hooded sweatshirt that zips up the front, different size clamps, flashlights, OSU themed stuff, grilling tools, gas gift cards (not that $25 gets you much anymore!), tire guages, etc.

  • Flashlights (like the ones that don't require batteries--either you shake them or you crank them)

    Grilling tools

    Earwraps (DH loves his)

    Wrench sets

Sweatshirt/sweaters (if they're sort of close to the same sizes)

    Mouse sander

    Work gloves

    Pocket knife

  • at our friends exchange last weekend, glass decanters with a bottle of whiskey were the biggest hits among the guys.

  • We do something similar.  Last year the big hits were tools and car washing kits.
  • If you can go just a little bit over-- Lowe's has the Black and Decker wrench that you can close by pushing one little button vs twisted it forever. My dad and DH both want one (and DH is far from being a handy man) and it was $30 I think. They also both want the B&D level that has grip things so it doesn't slide down the wall and a stud finder in it..that was $25
