DH's father was diagnosed with cancer this evening. We are all in a bit of shock right now and didn't see this happening in a million years. His dad went in for a persistant sore throat thinking it was strep and found out he had an abcess which was biopsed last week. The results came back today and it is cancerous. All we know at the time is that it is some form of lymphoma near his throat. We are hoping it hasn't spread via the lymph nodes to other parts of the body. DHs parents live in Portsmouth, but may be moving in with us for treatment at the James. Not sure how that will work out since we have 800 sq ft. in our apt. and our already using every single inch. But if it means receiving better care, I'd be willing to suck it up for a few months. Please keep him in your prayers. I'll keep everyone updated as information is relayed to us. It should be a few weeks before we know anything further.
Re: FIL Has Cancer
I'm so sorry. He'll be in good hands at the James. My mom had oral cancer (lost 3/4 of the roof of her mouth) and her doctors at the James were great.
You and your family are my thoughts!
