4 Rigs Collide, Closing Portion Of I-70
Dec 12 2007 3:34PM
COLUMBUS, Ohio - A crash involving at least four tractor-trailers has closed a portion of Interstate 70 Wednesday afternoon.
The crash occurred along the westbound lanes of I-70 near South Fourth Street at about 2:45 p.m.
Police shut down the westbound lanes of I-70 at I-71.
One of the eastbound lanes of I-70 was also closed. Traffic in the eastbound lanes was reported backed up to Cooper Stadium.
Initial reports indicated that two people were hospitalized.
There was no word about how long I-70 would remain closed.
Drivers should use the westbound lanes of I-670 to state Route 315 as an alternative route for I-71. The alternative route for I-70 drivers is to use S.R. 104, Broad Street, Main Street and Livingston Avenue.
