Thanks for the overwhelming response about our baby! It helped sooo much to share it with all of you ladies, because we're planning a Christmas surprise for our parents, and are keeping it a secret for now! Only a couple people even know we had an u/s yesterday. We've only told 3 friends and the Nest the results
So it's been very hard for us to be overly happy about it - and very difficult to stay neutral when talking to family!
DH was very cute about everything. I turned to him and asked if it was okay that we were having a girl, and he got the biggest grin on his face. He said "of course it is, with the timing of everything, I never imagined it would be any other way." I feel so blessed that he loves the name Amelia as much as I do, and it wasn't even a 2-minute discussion that we'd use my grandma's name.
Re: Thanks everyone!
I'm going to make it a present that they open up. So far only MIL knows we went yesterday, so hopefully she will be the only one that expects something at Christmas.
For my parents, I was going to decorate a pink picture frame with her name on it and put an u/s pic inside. For DH's parents, probably just decorate the frame with "it's a girl!" or something like that, because I'm not sure how excited they will be about the name.
