I saw in the poll below that you are interested in being a foster parent, but your extended family wouldn't approve.

I personally think you fit the perfect foster parent profile of having a strong young family, with a daughter who would get a lot out of sharing her home and family with another little girl or boy.  I used to work in foster care, and we needed homes just like yours!  It's not easy, but there are plenty of little ones in Franklin county that aren't scary and your extended family would love them, too!

I actually still do foster care home studies, on a contractual basis, and the agency that I do them for has a ton of homes on your side of town (quite the trek for me!).  If you ever have any questions or just want to talk about it, email me at ukjulie21@hotmail.com

  • Julie - thanks!  I'll keep your e-mail and start bringing it up gently after the holidays go by.

My parents' issue with this is based solely on my brother's adoption experience.  I can see why they've soured on the idea, but my grandmother fostered many children and I think it's a great way to give back.

I will e-mail you about it some time later, or if not, you have mine!  :-)
