I NEED your shopping eyes!!! (and suggestions...Please!!!!)

as most of you know, my dh works at a very small (very poor) homeless/advocasy agency for the homeless and marginally housed.

Each year they have a big party for their clients.  Last yr I started Mrs. Claus' General Store so the kids would have something to open Christmas Am....

Last yr we let the moms 'shop', but it was a HUGE problem, so this year we're having them fill our a list.  As in everything we do, we have tons more kids then I EVER thought!  I have tons of stuff for kids 6-10...but I'm stuck with the 12+!  They all seem to want  CD players, DVD players, Walkman radios,  movies (no type specific) and music..(again not what type...I don't think it's country..hehe!).

Since I was out of work for 2 months...my budget is shot (even though we really cut back for family..not doing much for each other...all going to the kids at the party.). 

Where can I find cheap CD players or Walk-Man type radios?  Right now I need at least 4 ...   Also  has anyone seen Bratz on sale?  I have 5..but as of today I need 12!    Funny how I have almost 100 Polly Pockets yet no one 'wants' them  and I have tons of Littlest Pet Shop animals...again not on anyones list.  I have a few games, but never thought I'd need 25! 
Yikes...what I have started?  What have I gotten myself into? 
AD Farrows is doing the gifts for Santa to give out that night, but I'm trying to make sure Santa finds all these kids!

I guess one reason I'm so worried is that most of these families didn't make the Salvation Army/Toys for Tots deadline...so w/out our program, they won't have anything 12/25!

I haven't seen anything, but then again I haven't been looking for that kind of stuff! Wonder if Odd Lots would have the cd players? I'll keep my eyes peeled for you!

I thought the same thing, but the best I've found was $7 each...just too much right now.

I just wish I'd known this on Black Friday as someone had them for just a couple bucks!

I actually have a bag of random things for you (lotion for the women, 6 jars of meat babyfood, etc).

I will keep my eyes peeled for the cd players/walkmans. What kinds of games are you looking for?

Best Buy had cd players for $10.00. (Josh's dad wanted one for his garage). Josh checked all of them locally and only the Lancaster one had some left. This was a couple weeks ago though, so I don't know if they still have them or still on sale.

darn...$10 would have been perfect!  oh well...I just checked and didn't find any anyplace.    That was a heck of a deal!!!  WOW!

man I miss Rachel at A.D. Farrows!  Now that she's gone, the toy delivery is really low!  We went from over 100 GREAT toys to maybe 50 ok toys!  Mostly dolls and games from what he said...oh yea..coloring books and crayons.  They are bringing hats and gloves too!  Don't get me wrong...we're VERY thankful they are bringing anything at all, but we'd counted on them to at least cover the list of kids!  Can't very well give a 13yr boy a doll!  Last yr it was skateboards, basketballs etc!
Oh well!!!  Back out to scrounging...BIG TIME!
If only we had known a week or 2 ago...time is soooo short (6 days!)
