First, Connor has been really sick for the past week so I finally made an appointment because I was afraid that he had a sinus/ear infection and I didn't want it to get too bad. DH took him this afternoon and the doctor said that he has some fluid in his right ear but she wants to wait and see instead of dosing him with antibiotics right away.
Then, we noticed our bassett's tail bleeding last night and upon further investigation, we saw a nasty looking growth on his tail. We call MedVet but they said that if the bleeding was under control (which it was) to just wait and take him to our vet today. I took him in for that after work and the vet said that it is definitely infected so she called in a prescription for Augmentin and I have to bring him back in after Christmas for a follow-up so they can take a cell sample to find out what the problem is. They also gave me a "buster collar" (a cone) so he can't chew on his tail while we are asleep/gone from the house.
I am just glad to be home now
