OT: Moving back to Columbus!

Hi ladies,

I am thrilled that we are moving back to Columbus after being away for 10 years. Can anyone recommend a good realtor or where to find information on school quality? Our son is only 13 months old, but I am already looking at school districts in addition to preschools. Thanks to much!

Thanks ladies!  Does Wendy just work in Hilliard?  The areas that we are most interested in are UA, Worthington, Grandview, Dublin, and New Albany (I'll be teaching in the med school at Ohio State).

Congrats on moving back!  I think the best school district in Cbus right now (based on the "polls") is Olentangy (Powel/Lewis Center area).  Upper Arlington and Dublin are also very good.  We live in New Albany which was ranked very high when we first moved here but has decreased since due to overcrowding.  The town is just growing too quickly.

Alicia, is there a ranking of school districts available anywhere?  I've seen the report cards, but not rankings anywhere.

We live in New Albany and love it and New Albany schools are really great, even in spite of decreasing ratings a little over-crowding. Our son is also only 3 so not of school age yet, but DH is a football coach at New Albany HS (we moved to Columbus from Chicago last December so this past year was his first year coaching) and we have been really impressed by the district. Also, all of DH's fellow coaches are teachers and they do nothing but rave about the district, which says a lot because if a district had problems, that's the first place you'd hear it. His teacher friends love their jobs at NA.

It's a smaller community than other districts mentioned and I think that's it's huge advantage, even though it is growing really quickly, there are still less kids, smaller schools and a real "community" feel that we just love.
