Thank you for the prayers.

We have had a rough couple of days with my mom. She went home Saturday morning, only to turn around and go back into the ER Sunday morning. She now has bronchitis. She's very weak, but getting better. My brother and I have been taking turns spending the night with her and my sister in law has been spending the days with her. My mom had all of her meds mixed up and just wasn't functioning at home on her own very well.

Yesterday we took her to the doctor and they told us she has less than 6 months to live. I'm so heart broken. My mom just looked at the doctor, with her sad face and sickly body and said "Are you serious?"  She thought that everything was going to be fine after the surgery. I don't think she ever really realized how serious her cancer is.

I just want to say thank you to everyone. All of you have been so supportive and loving. It's tough times like these that make you realize who your real friends are. I really am blessed.  I know the next few months will be tough. I just want to see her smile one last Christmas and see her reach 68 in April. She's so young.

  • I am so sorry for all your family is going through Danica. I feel for you believe me. My aunt was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in June and since then everything has been such a rollercoaster. She had surgery in June to remove 10lbs. of tumor and they still did not get everything (a golfball size tumor on her liver and tumors on her arteries.) She is only 58 and has been receiving chemo treatments (the harshest there is) since July. She has been off of her chemo for 2 weeks and had a scan last Friday. We found out yesterday that it has actually spread to her pelvis and abdomen now, so I am heartbroken, especially during the Christmas season. It makes me wonder how many more Christmases we will have with her. It is uncertain now what they're going to do not, but I've heard from different doctors that at most, she has maybe 5 years....it just sucks big time, so I know how you feel. My heart goes out to you and I pray for comfort for you through this difficult time.
  • ((hugs))  I'm sure it's so hard!
  • I think of you everyday!  You are so kind and giving!  I wish for you peace.

    Much love!
