Kirk Herbstreit announced that he'd heard from close sources to the situation that Les Miles was leaving LSU and going to coach at michigan.  Les Miles had a press conference over the weekend saying that the rumors are completely false, and he will be staying at LSU to coach.  He really didn't have a choice but to deny the rumors until after the national champsionship game.  Who knows!

I've thought he was lying from day 1 when he had the press conference.  Thad Matta did the same thing at Xavier, he told everyone that he was happy and would continue to coach at XU then about a week later he announced that he had accepted the position at OSU.

His press conference over the weekend was BS. He didn't say specifically that he wasn't going to Michigan. He just said he was staying at LSU. He just didn't say how long. Til after the bowl game? That's my guess.

Howev, on Mike &Mike on ESPN, they interviewed him and point blank flat out asked him if he or any of his staff had spoken to Michigan about the job. He said no. I do think he's lying about that!

Apparently Miles and LSU have come to agreement over a new contract, but he still has to sign it. So until he does, I won't believe he is staying at LSU. However, I am guessing they are giving him a lot of money to stay and honestly, Michigan won't be able to or want to match it.
