How did the race go?? I'm so sorry I couldn't make it. I had to work at a holiday party that my dad planned on Saturday night, and I didn't get home until after 2 am, after working for over 12 hours straight. I knew there was no way I could get up that early and drive that far and then run 4 miles.

I was thinking of you guys, I hope it went really well!!

Hey Megan!  Thanks for asking.  It went well... I mean, the weather left a lot to be desired, but that made it even more meaningful for those that braved the elements!   We had 100 people registered and probably 50-70 showed (we don't have a final number).  I thought it was a decent turn out for a first year event!   Of course like any race director we had a few "oh s***" moments, but we got them taken care of and I don't think people saw them!  Everyone told us what a great time they had though so that was good.  Only one complaint from some dude who turned around too early and then informed us that the course was short... uh, buddy, that's your fault!  Plus Tom got to meet some great diabetics - the winner in 22 minutes was Type 1 and diagnose just like Tom out of nowhere later in life.  It was really cool.

No problem about not being there!  I completely understand!  heck, with the weather we had... even if you had a perfect night sleep and were ready to make a terribly long drive, it still wouldn't have phased me if you hadn't come!  I didn't take offense to anyone who was at home and in bed... maybe a little jealous!!!
