Need Paint Color Ideas!!!

Our living room is large with a lot of walnut trim/woodwork. Our furniture is cream, fawn, and forest green. What paint color would you pick? Also, we have built-in floor-to-ceiling bookcases that are painted white. Would you leave them white or paint a contrasting color?

We're also looking for a color for our bedroom. It's a small room that gets a lot of light. Our bedding is antique gold with sage and deep burgundy on it. Any ideas?

Finally, the kitchen is getting painted! It's small and gets a lot of sunlight. Currently, the cabinets are painted white, so we're probably going to have to stay with paint. What color would you paint the the kitchen? Cabinets?

I'm so excited about these projects! DH wants to get our place looking great before Christmas! He just put in new flooring in the kitchen, in addition to all of the painting!

Re: Need Paint Color Ideas!!!

  • Oh, I love paint/ decorating! Can you post pics of the various rooms? Or feel free to e-mail me. I get really into this kind of stuff. Have you ever been to my house for a get-together?

For the living room, I was thinking chocolate brown or taupe or you could try just painting one the darker accent color and having the other walls a lighter cream so the room isn't too dark.

Maybe paint the bedroom burgundy. I've seen a burgundy bedroom with white trim before and it looked really sharp! :)

What color is the flooring going into the kitchen?
