Re: who sends out xmas/holiday cards?

  • I've always sent Christmas cards, and it seems like the amount you receive doubles when you get married!  I try to start early, and write out a few each night.  DH doesn't help, so it's all up to me!  :)
  • i send them, it makes me feel grown up too! :-) i just sign our names though, i dont write anything special :P
  • I send them out and I usually just sign our names (well I make him sign his)  However, to immediate family I always write a little message.  The thing I hate the most is addressing them!  I don't have labels for us either so it's even more! :)
  • I have also sent xmas cards my whole life.  Last year was the first as married and our combined list was ridiculous - we got photo cards from Shutterfly with a pic from our wedding and they had a message printed on them so we didn't have to write out anything.

I have a little book where I document who we sent to and if we got one in return every year.  If I don't get one back 2 yrs in a row they are off the list!

This year I had to write them all out b/c there were no pictures suitable (due to my hugely pregnant form).  For DH's cards, I address them for him but he has to write whatever he wants on the inside.  Tell your DH to suck it up - they're his friends and family!

  • lol yes addressing sucks

we have return labels but i think it will be tacky of me to print labels to those getting them.. so will have to address them...

    i think i'll do it

but i'll make the final decision this weekend!

    when i'm feeling my lazy-ist :)

  • We do to close family and friends. I'm really trying to convince DH this year that we should take a picture in front of a cactus (since we are in AZ) in summer clothes and maybe a Santa hat, and use that for a photo card.  If not, I'll just buy some at the store and write them myself and sign for both of us.  I usually include a short message but nothing elaborate.
  • My family usually sends out a Christmas letter with all the years updates in it, then we would just all sign. Now that it's just DH and I we just find cards and I have him sign his name and that's it, then I address all of them. This year I am getting REALLY lazy! I have about 50 thank you cards to write from our shower still (I hand write each one, and include about 3 sentences). So, I am getting photocards, we might sign them, and I am printing labels. I want it to be easy.
  • I send them. This year I made some and bought some. I tuckered out from making them. I know I'm a wimp as well!  When I had a H I always signed his name.
  • I've been sending out cards since the year before we got married.  I actually have a Christmas address list..lol  This year I'm not doing cards, we are just going to send out picture cards like a birth annoucement after the baby is born.
  • Yes, I just sign our names and address them. Luckily, we do have labels for the return address.
  • I do! Last year I did "holiday" cards, cause I knew I'd be getting some of them out late. Part of me knows it silly to hand-make them all, but I kind of feel people expect it, since that's what I do for a living. LOL! I hoping to get a jump on them this year. :)
  • We always send them.  We also just got finished with our wedding Thank Yous and my DH also detests writting.  SO, we are taking a wedding pic and making Christmas cards on snapfish.com  You can have a message written on the cards so all you have to do is put them in envelopes and mail them!  YAY!!!
