Mommy Nesties

Can you suggest a toy that would be appropiate for a 7 month old?  I am looking for something for my niece.  Her mom said she didn't need anymore clothes.   Do you have any suggestions?

TIA

Jen

Re: Mommy Nesties

  • It really depends on where that 7 month old is developmentally.  My almost 8 month old niece is starting to think about walking, so I got her this: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2697160

But she currently loves this: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2265219

  • Jen,

Like Allsion said above, tha Laugh and Learn Puppy is awesome. Faith loves it. She also really likes the playskool stacking blocks. Basically anything she can knock down that you have stacked she loves.  Have fun.
  • I will third the Laugh and Learn Puppy.  Also, good old-fashioned building blocks are fun.
  • Tyler is almost 7mos and here's what he really likes:

Laugh & Learn Pots & Pans (Fisher Price)
    Peek a boo cube (Lamaze)
    Baby Einstein Neptune Activity Toy
Sing along Activity Barn (Fisher Price)

He's also getting this for christmas:
Fisher Price Go Baby Go Sit to Stand Giraffe
Fisher Price Peek a blocks alphabet blocks
Fisher Price Peek a blocks shape sorter
    Fisher Price baby baseball

  • I am not  a mommy (yet) but I am an auntie and I am in love with the fisher price little people. They are the perfect size for little hands and my niece carries them every where:)
  • If I went by just what my nephew liked at that age (and now, he's 20 months), it was boxes and coasters (yes, the ones you set your drink on)..anything small that he could put in his mouth. Oh..and mom and dad's cell phone! :)
  • Our boys are obsessed with remotes and phones...pushing buttons is big. Our current faves:

    -Sassy trumpet rattle/mirror
    -linkadoos
-FP Ocean wonders aquarium sorter (fishbowl with balls)
-manhattan toy primary colored squishyt thign with black cords (BRU has them)

    We got for x mas/birthday:
    -FP animal stacking blocks
    -leapfrog activity table
    -infantino baby beach band
    -maracas
-I plan to buy the hohner ocean drum off amazon

The therapist borught them metal lids and they were in heaven a dnc ried when she had to go...LOL! It's sad what amuses them!
  • Thanks for all of the great ideas.  I think I will go with the puppy. I don't see my niece very often,  this weekend she was sitting up by herself and learning to lay on her tummy without freaking out.

    Thanks again ladies!

    Jen
