I just saw the dog post below and was wondering if you could give me some names of the northern oh rescues that you mentioned. We rescued our Shepherd 3yrs ago and I would love to rescue another! Thanks

We got our pup from Planned Pethood, and they were fabulous.  The $200 fee included puppy, spaying, first shots and dewormer, and fabulously committed and kind and helpful staff.  They held her for four days for us while she was spayed, and were amazingly helpful in our figuring out what we needed, what to bring when we picked her up, etc.  We found them through Petfinder.

We also looked at a few dogs from the Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue, which is in Columbus, and the Midwest Havanese and Small Dog Rescue in Rossford, OH.  There's also You Lucky Dog Rescue (www.youluckydogrescue.com) that is a rescue specifically for dogs that were close to being euthanised.  Some of the places we originally looked had a 100 mile radius, so we weren't close enough, but I imagine that if you were just outside that and totally in love with a dog someone would talk with you.  I believe that there's a shepherd rescue in Columbus, if you don't want to make the drive to the northern part of the state.
