Columbus Tattoo Places

Any recommendations on where to get a tattoo in Columbus?  I'm going to be bold and finally do this!  A red block O . I've never done this before so I have no idea where to start.  What should I be looking for in a tattoo place?  What questions should I ask? What should I expect?

I went to Evolved for all of mine. (On High st.)

My sister got her last one at High Street Tattoo and it's gorgeous.

Oh I forgot the last part of the question... make sure the shop is clean and ask about sterilization, that it's exactly what you want, the size you want, etc.  It won't hurt there feelings, it'll be on your body forever so speak up.

I got mine done at Evolved on High St as well. I really liked them. Geoff was my tattoo artist. I don't know if he is there anymore...it was years ago.

Evolved - Anna is amazing!!!  I had a tattoo done by her in June and it tuned out beautiful!  I have gotten so many compliments on it!

3 tattoos done here; 2 on me, 1 on my sister. Well, and a 4th done on my best friend. Advanced Body Art 2238 W. Dublin Granville Road Worthington, OH 43085 614-888-2639 I've only been to 1 other tatto place (in MD) and this one was a lot nicer, that's why I went back! Now to get DH through the door of this place so he can joins the ranks.

Your sister's turned out really nice.

My next one is being done at Kat Von D's shop in LA.  Hopefully in the spring!  My son and I went to the shop when we were out there in August, it's fabulous!  I want Hannah to do my next one....

I have three. Two from Evolved, then one from Fate. I went to Andy at Evolved, he was okay, but then was weird when I wanted my third so I went to Chris at Fate. It was great.

I've only heard good things about Evolved on High. Look for a place that's clean, autoclaves their instruments, uses new ink and needles for each customer, changes gloves between putting together the instruments and doing your work, goes over your design with you in advance and makes changes before putting it on your body. It's not required here, but separate rooms for tattooing are often cleaner than one big room, though one big room can be clean. Tell them how you handle pain, if you have problems with your skin or allergies, and what if anything you're afraid of/concerned about. And have fun!

Oh I went to Mike at Evolved.  He's amazing, went to school at CCAD for a while.

What planning bug said is perfect.  Also, if you need a break in the middle, let them know too.  I have a tattoo that covers my entire left foot (the top of it) and I had to sit in a very uncomfortable position for over 3 hours.  Mike was great and took frequent breaks but if they don't offer them up, don't be shy.

I have gotten all mine from Bootleg Tattoo it's on the courner of livingston and courtright. I have my entire arm done and a couple on my chest. I think his name is Dave. He has pretty inexpensive rates too.
