I got my first speeding ticket yesterday... I am so embarresed!! I was coming home from my Grandma's in Mt Vernon and there is effectively a speed trap in Centerberg (speed limit suddenly drops from 55 to 35).

I have driven through there 100 times though, and I know the speed limit drops, I just was too busy gabbing to pay attention to where I was. The worst part was the waiting after the cop pulled me over and told me how fast I had been going. OK. I screwed up. I will admit I screwed up, badly. Please just give me the ticket and let me on my way!!

So much for a perfect driving record.

And of course by good drive I mean good driver.. though it wasnt a good drive either! I made DH drive the rest of the way home (actually he was sweet and  volunteered).

Hugs! I remember the day I got my first ticket....December 21, 2001! I was so angry. Like you I had driven the road to my mom's house a 1000 times.  :-(

To clarify, I wasnt on the phone. I try not to drive and talk on the phone. I was distracted by talking to DH who was sitting in the passangers seat.

i would really like if ohio banned cells while driving

just for safety!

That stinks! I have only gotten 1 speeding ticket and it was on 71 North right before the Kings Island/Mason exit back in May 2002. I know what you mean when you say it's embarrassing!

Ugh, That stinks! I got my ticket a few years ago right down the street from my house. It's only 25 and I was doing 40 ~ I was so into the music that was on! ugh ~ I felt really stupid. I have been lucky though and have just gotten off with warnings in previous instances.

That SUCKS!  I know exactly where you are talking about. For 3 years I would drive back and forth to Mt. Vernon from my parents house to see my boyfriend/FI/now DH! The only times I was EVER pulled over in my life was on trips up there! Grr..although I must say, it was never in C-burg. I figured that out quickly!
