car seat checks

Hi everyone - my dear daughter decided to arrive 6 weeks early.  She is doing great, and will probably be discharged from the NICU by Monday.  Needless to say, we had a few things on our list that are not finished, including the car seat check.  I live in Powell and the fire department said that I needed to call the Delaware General Health District, which I did and left a message.  I am concerned, though, that we will not have enough time to get it checked through this avenue before bringing her home.  Where did you all have this done and what was the process?  Thanks in advance for your help with this.

I had mine checked at Children's Hospital.  I had the make an appointment though.

What hospital is she in?  Mt Carmel East NICU has a nurse that is certified in car seats.  Ask around the NICU...they might have someone!

http://www.seatcheck.org/ says that the Liberty Twp Fire Dept is the place to go in Powell.  It has a listing by city if you want to try Delaware or Worthington or something else. 

It says to ask for Rebecca Chandler if you go to the Delaware Health District.

I had mine checked by the people at Delaware General Health District twice actually.  They have them often, and they also have a lady comes on Wed. nights to the Liberty fire dept to check them but you obviously have to schedule an appt.  You won't have trouble getting help before your baby comes home, they were great!!
