Not liking my mortgage company right now
Those jerks tried to withdraw my mortgage THREE times this month!
-Attempt 1 worked, of course
-Attempt 2 didn't work, because 1st payment had been taken out the day before and it was pre-payday so there wasn't a ton of funds in that account
-Attempt 3 worked and drained my account of my last paycheck
They claim that I set up an automatic withdrawal twice, but I'm not that stupid, and there's NO way I set it up for the second time in November if the payment was already successfully coming out for two months previously.
Mortgage company only can refund my money through the standard mail. I have several bills set up for automatic withdrawal in the next day or so. Not sure what I'm going to do. I have some savings readily accessible, but a lot is in online accounts that take a day or so to transfer over. So there's really no point.
I think I'll be gambling with my money for the next 3 days until that stupid check comes... I guess for situations like this, you should keep a decent amount in your regular savings, even though the interest sucks.
Re: Not liking my mortgage company right now
Okay, this doesn't help your situation, but I honestly would never have an automatic withdrawal setup just for this reason. I got screwed several years ago for $70. I NEVER got my money back after going and complaining for months. Each time they said I'd get something and I never did. So after getting burned on that, I've never had any automatic withdrawals. I still pay my bills online, but I have to go in and make the payments. Yes, it's an extra step, but it keeps companies from stealing my money.
I'm really sorry this has happened and I hope everything will work out okay.
