Girls that delivered at Riverside

How much does it cost to deliver a baby vaginally with an epi?  What about a c/s?

We are in open enrollment right now with our insurance so we are trying to figure out what to go with.  It would be helpful to know how much of a hospital bill we will be looking at next year.  Thanks!

Re: Girls that delivered at Riverside

  • Obviously I haven't delivered yet, but I have had other mom's tell me it ranges from $5K-8K for vaginal and $10K-15K depending on where you deliver and if there are any complications and such. These are very rough numbers though.
  • That's $10K-15K for c/s.
  • Do you know how much your insurance will cover?  With my Anthem, I'll pay the $500 deductible, and then 20% of the cost of delivery, up to the yearly max of $1000.  So I'm setting up my Flex plan for $1500 for delivery.

  • My emergency C with hospital stay was 25K.
  • I don't know about Riverside specifically but I asked this question on the Multiples board a while ago and they basically said a c-section was about $5-10K and if the baby has to stay in the NICU at all it's about $1000-1200/day and it's about $1000/day for you to stay overnight (like if you had hospital bed rest or something).  Hospital costs for those girls ranged from $5K to $900K depending on how long they or their babies had to stay there.
  • Okay, thanks girls!  Figuring out all this insurance stuff is a nightmare.
  • my vag delivery w/ epi was 7800 for my care and another 1500-2K for baby's care.
