Recommend your hair die - box jobby!!!

I am too cheap nor do I have the time to get it done....and my class reunion is the weekend of Thanksgiving.  I want something that will look somewhat natural and just want to die back to my regular color.  MANY commercials make it sound SO GOOD......I mean, if Sarah Jessica Parker does it.....I can get away with a box job too, right?

Gee thanks!

  • When I would dye my own hair I always used Natural Instincts for semi-permanent. It is really great color that blends with your hair and washes out within a month or two. It is great if you just want to spice up the color you have. Otherwise, if you are looking for permanent color, I always used Hydrience, it is the only color that stays in my hair and actually does the same thing to my hair that the box says it will. When I would use Loreal color it never looked like I did anything to my hair.

(This coming from someone who hasn't seen her natural hair color since 9th grade and dyed it herself until 3 years ago.)   :)
  • I use Feria and love it.  It gives me the best all-over color.  I found that with the "non-drip"cremes that I always seemed to miss a lot of spots and ended up with patchy color.  Most people don't know that I'm not a natural red head.  The only thing about Feria is that the color is VERY bright the first few days.  It needs at least a week to calm down into a more natural looking shade.
  • I would NEVER NEVER NEVER recommend a box to dye your hair!  I started going gray at 16.. so I have been dying my hair for years. I buy it all at Sally's.  You pick the color, the peroxide and the bottle go home and do it yourself.. The people that work there are usually (only ran into one stupid one once) really informed and can help you pick the right color and peroxide to mix it with.  It turns out to be about the same price (may be a dollar or two more), but so much better for your hair! Its the same stuff that salons use, just sold to the general public. I went to the same stylist for years to have my hair dyed and finally she just took me to sally's and told me what to buy and I have been doing it myself for the past 5-6 years!

    good luck!

  • Howell, I love your hair, as a natural redhead with 8 other redheads in the family, you fooled me!!
