blonde highlighted hair help

I am looking for a new hair person that is GREAT with blonde highlights & low lights.  I pay too much now, $140, and am looking to spend closer to $100.  (for partial & cut)

I would like to stay in the gahanna area, preferably Penzones.  I hate going to a new person without a referral, have had to many brassy color experiences!!!

TIA

Re: blonde highlighted hair help

  • I would recomend Jason at the Wedgewood Penzones.  He does AMAZING blond.  I know that sounds a little dramatic, but I have also had some brassy (and one white--someone at rapheal's put highlighting bleach all over my whole head and left it for 1 hr!!)The only problem with Jason is that he does not meet some of your criteria.  He is in the Dublin/Powell area and is very expensive!  I think a cut and full highlights are about $200 or so. I went to him for the full year before my wedding b/c I wanted to make sure that my hair was not weird.  The good thing about Jason (and anyone at Penzones) is that he can put the color formulas in their system so that anyone @ any Penzones can know what colors worked best.  Maybe an initial investment, all be it significant, would be worth it.  Since my August wedding I have seen Kara at the Wedgewood salon and have been very pleased.  She uses the same colors and I only paid $130 (that includes tip!) for a cut and full highlights.
Well, sorry that was so long, but good color is hard to find :)  HTH!!
  • My best friend, Emily does hair at Penzone's in Gahanna.  Not sure of her different prices though.  She's been doing my hair for years and I've never had a bad cut or color.  GL!
  • I would recommend Lucy at the Polaris Penzones. She is a Senior Director, though, and I know the higher they are the more expensive they are, so you may want to ask for a stylist or a regular director....anyone there is good.
  • stacyinluv-is that her real name or the name at the salon?  If I go to her, I want to make sure I book under the right person!  I am pretty sure they all use "fake" names!
  • p.s.  I meant too, not to!

    LOL

  • Heather-it's her salon name :)  HTH!
  • I used to go to Emily at Penzone's in Gahanna. She is really great but she is hard to get an appt with so I switched (I am one of those girls who when I want a haircut I want one today). Now I go to Mandy at Kenneth's in New Albany, she is a Master Colorist and I LOVE her, she hasn't given me a bad cut or color. My hair also gets brassy and doesn't hold color well and my hair is never brassy when she does it.
  • My colorist is Elisa at Tricoci at Easton and love her. She does great high's and low's, never brassy and always blended very well. I do end up paying $140 with a cut when I go there, but I also go to a "master" level person for my cut. You could go lower than that.
  • i have had mine done at signature and have been happy both times i saw sara ( who i think might be at tricoce now) and one other there.

i now get mine done in groveport by shannon at village hair shop. i love love love her!
