PSA - HUGE sale at Macys City Center

Macy's is finally closing down their store at City Center so they've got a HUGE clearance sale going on now - most merchandise is an additional 40-70% off clearance prices - I got some insane deals there!!

Re: PSA - HUGE sale at Macys City Center

  • Ooh....I wonder if I can convince DH to go down there with me....it's kind of on the way home... :)

    Can you brag about your deals?  :)
  • we went Sunday and found a couple things, but nothing I'd call insane!  Did we miss something?  Harry did get me an Aigner (sp?) purse that had been $80 for $45...I'd never spend $45 on a purse let along $80, so I can't wait for Christmas!  Funny thing is I already have the shoes to match...bought from a friends garage sale for $2!

  • DH has been walking there for lunches for the last week :)  Last night I finally met him there and got a lot of stuff.  Three pairs of pants (one was a pair of nice Levi's), four shirts and a pair of cute boots all for...$126!!!  Made me very happy as I was in need of some post baby clothes that are not maternity.
  • We stopped by last night.  First, I have to say that City Center is scary now...so sad.  Anyway, we found some nice baby stuff for a decent price, but nothing amazing (we have a niece we love to spoil...).  We did get a new angel for our Christmas tree, though, and some ornament hangers.  I found a "little black dress" that was really cute, but just didn't work with my boobs (can't go without a bra and I don't think a strapless would work under it well...)--but it was a $70 dress for $28...*shrug*  So just got the Christmas stuff.
  • According to one of the salespeople there, they had just taken additional discounts yesterday - I got a $90 purse for $20, two pairs of shoes for $10 each, a nice dress shirt for DH for $6, and a new luggage set (DH's is falling apart) for $70.
    I agree though, it's really weird walking through City Center now - I hope the city does something good with the place!

  • I miss City Center.  I can remember going there the day after Thanksgiving and shopping for awhile.  Then meeting my family at the Chintz Room in Lazarus for lunch around 11:00.  Then more shopping.

    It was always packed and it was so much fun!

    ::sigh::
  • I went at lunch today b/c I work downtown and while I didn't have a lot of time, I did get a Memory Foam pillow for $24, an awesome pair of lepoard print ballet shoes for $10, a Charter Club throw blanket for $16 and an adorable pair of camoflage (sp?) pants for Nathan for $6. I personally was not impressed with the women's clothing selection and didn't have time to look at the men's but there was a ton of home stuff on sale.
