Anybody up for some gambling?

Vote...
A. YES - our repairman will come today and the problem will be fixed
B. YES - our repairman will come today and do nothing
C. NO - the repairman will cancel again and I will go ballistic

Our garbage disposal broke about 6 weeks ago and the home warranty folks assigned a certain company to fix it.  We stopped using the dishwasher, b/c it drains through the disposal, which was leaking.  It took 4 days for them to come out the first time.  Told us it was dead, 4 days later I call to get an update. They schedule me for 4 days later to replace.  (they love this 4 day thing)

Replaced disposal and as soon as he left, I realized that the dishwasher does not work at all - no lights or anything.  Afraid of touching it and voiding the warranty, I call the company that fixed the disposal and asked if there was something the guy might have done during his visit that led to the dishwasher not working.  They said "maybe" and scheduled me for 4 days out.  TWICE they call on the day of to cancel, scheduling each time for 4 days later.

Will they come today??  We'll see.  At this point I'm expecting the guy to poke at it for a minute and tell me that he didn't do a thing and the dishwasher magically stopped working when he was fiddling in the general region.

Re: Anybody up for some gambling?

  • I'm voting "B", by the way.  I just want a working dishwasher before my baby is born... lol
  • i'm going with B as well
  • I would call the warrenty people up and ask for a different company. We had an issue with our furnace. The first company that came screwed up our furnance and it still didn't work. So we requested a different company.

I would say I know a good plumber, but you are under warrenty so that won't work:)
  • I don't want to jinx you, so I won't vote!

I really hope they come out and fix it.

  • That really really sucks Julie! I'm voting for B, although I am hoping for A.
  • Ugh...what a pain.  I just hope they show up and make EVERYTHING work before Christmas!!!!  I'm going to vote B...just b/c I highly doubt A will happen and, well, I hope to hell C doesn't....
  • It was a mix of A and B....   It still doesn't work, but the guy is supporting the need for a replacement.  The computer parts don't work right and apparently they don't make them anymore.  He said it's a top of the line dishwasher, so maybe he can cut a deal with the warranty folks to get us a lower value replacement?  That would be fine with me, rather than some parts that weren't really meant for it.
